Does Injection Site Matter?

Yes. Injection site can influence how medication is absorbed.

Patients are generally advised to rotate between three common injection sites:

  • Abdomen (belly)

  • Upper arm

  • Thigh

General guidance:

  1. Abdomen

Often provides faster absorption, which may increase
effectiveness but can also lead to more noticeable side effects.

  2. Upper arm / Thigh

May result in slower, more gradual absorption with potentially
    fewer side effects.

    Rotating injection sites helps:

    • Reduce irritation
    • Improve absorption consistency
    • Prevent tissue issues
